People of Limpopo celebrates Heritage Day

About 5000 people from all corners of the Limpopo Province gathered at Lephephane Village Mapantsula Sport Ground in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality to celebrate National Heritage Day in South Africa on 24 September 2014. The theme of this year’s Heritage Day was “Celebrating 20 years of Democracy: Tell Your Story that Moves South Africa Forward”.

UNIVEN Vice-Chancellor confers eleven PHD’s

The University of Venda (UNIVEN) Vice-Chancellor and Rector, Professor Peter Mbati confers eleven doctorate degrees on the 19th September 2014. As the professor indicated, this was  the first time the University confers this number of PhD’s in one graduation ceremony and it is a sign of hard work.

Arts and culture is a unifying factor-Premier Mathabatha

The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture recently hosted the Limpopo Arts and Culture Indaba. The event took place from 04 to 05 September 2014 at MJ Gateway Lodge, Polokwane Municipality, Capricorn District. The primary objective of the Indaba was to conduct diagnostic analysis of the status quo of arts and culture in the Province.

Traditional Leaders to participate in Government Medical Scheme

All traditional leaders will be participating in the Government Medical Aid Scheme known as GEMS. MEC  Jerry Ndou  announced this while he was opening Limpopo House of Traditional Leaders on behalf of Premier Chupu Mathabatha. The opening was done at Thohoyandou, Vhembe District on 19 September 2014. Traditional leaders from Limpopo and  other provinces were part of the ceremony.


NCOP pleased with service delivery progress in Limpopo

The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) has expressed its satisfaction with the progress made by the Limpopo government on service delivery in the province, in particular in the areas identified as service delivery hotspots.
