Learners spend the day at Office of the Premier

MEC responsible for Treasury Mr Rob Tooley welcomed 40 young high school students to the Limpopo Office of the Premier premises. He was speaking on behalf of Premier Stanely Mathabatha during the annual Take a Girl Child to Work Day. MEC Tooley encouraged learners to study and use various opportunities provided by government to empower themselves.

These young learners will spend the day in various unites within Office of the Premier learning about what employees do on a daily bases. The day aims at providing a platform for young learners to receive exposure and motivation to learn and become skilled.

Take a Girl Child to Work is an annual social corporate event which has been in existence from 2003. The day provides female learners from disadvantaged backgrounds with an opportunity to spend the day at various work places thought the country on the last Thursday of May. In recent years government and the private sector have extended the scope to accommodate young male learners to the programme.
