Premier celebrates Women’s Day

Women in Limpopo celebrated their National Women’s Day on the ninth of August in Maruleng, Willows Stadium under the theme ‘ Women united in moving South Africa Forward’. In his opening address Premier Mathabatha reminded women that they are a pillar of our democracy.
The event was attended by women from all walks of life in Limpopo. This is an annual holiday which seeks to honour the 1956 women who embarked on a historic march to the Union Building against pass-laws. The march was led by Lilian Ngoyi, Helen Joseph, Rahima Moosa and Sophia Williams
