Three learners from Mopani District will go to Sweden

The Provincial MEC for Education Mr Ishmael Kgetjepe will be sending three learners, Mashele Mmabatho, Camilla Makhumbila, Hlengi Hulani and Nukeri Hlonipho Edgar from Mathlari High School, in Shikwambani Village, Mopani District who got position one during the South African Youth Water Prize (SAYWP) competition held in Gauteng, Benoni. They are now going to represent South Africa during the Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) competition in Sweden this month.


The Annual South African Youth Water Prize, competition is supported by the Department of Water and Sanitation. The learners will represent South Africa with learners from more than 30 countries. These students will show the whole world how they use cellular phone to control water flow system. These three learners are expected to be in Sweden from 22 until 29 August 2015.

According to the Provincial Department of Education, this is not the first time Limpopo tops in this competition, in 2014, South Africa was represented by learners from Taxila School in Polokwane and the learners became part of the top ten winners.
