Premier spends 67 minutes with children

By Lucia Sefara

Premier Chupu Mathabatha spent his 67 minutes to honor former President Nelson Mandela at Reakgona Centre in Mankweng.

When speaking to Reakgona Centre children, Premier Mathabatha said these children should see themselves as little stars in the sky as well as in the eyes of God, parents, teachers and society at large.

One day you will also be an important person in society like a President, Premier, Engineer, Doctor etc. I want you to know that it is possible and it is all in your hands because your future or destiny is not determined by your teachers or parents, said Premier.

“If you can be led astray by your friends when they say let us go to the pub to drink or smoke and you follow them, know that you shall have abandoned your future”.

Premier further advised learners that, when they come across such people and the pressures of life press them down, they must know that they are like a steel spring, when it is pressed down and release, it always comes back with more pressure to go up. Secondly they must be like a steel iron that people continue to spit on it and yet it does not stop doing its work.

Tell yourself that you want to be like that twinkle little star in the sky, you are created in the image of God and don’t let anyone take that away from you, advised the Premier.

Premier Mathabatha together with Executive Mayor of Polokwane, Thembi Nkadimeng and other dignitaries donated Food parcels, mattress and blankets for children.
