The Department of Transport, Safety, security and Liaison in conjunction with Department of Correctional Services held a handing over of new classrooms at Silwersee Primary School Yesterday. The classrooms were handed to the Department of Education, represented by Mr Phill Malahlela.
The purpose of the event was to officially hand over the three classrooms and school uniform to the learners in this needy society of the Tzaneen farms.
Humbling is that 80 female Traffic Officers are the ones who contributed funds to build these three classrooms and buy uniform for all learners. Through a period, the female officials donated each to the amount of R500….what a donation from mothers to the children? Their contribution was used to purchase material and with the help of local business people they managed to gather material enough for the work.
The Department of Correctional Services provided their parolees to build the block with no cost. Completing its mandate; that of conducive learning and teaching, the Limpopo Department of Education provided the school with desks and chalkboards to the ululation of parents and learners on Monday the 29th August marking the end of Women’s month. The event was attended by MEC FOR Department of Transport, Safety Security and Liaison, Mopani Councillors, officials from government, parents and learners.
