Government speaks to people and MEC kgetjepe represents education

Imbizo programme for Executive Council (EXCO), a programme that speaks to the community went to Mampuru Sports Ground, Manganeng, Makhuduthamaga Municipality, Limpopo on 21 October 2016.


Imbizo is a continuous programme that gives communities a chance to voice out their concerns straight to the members of cabinet. Community of Manganeng had a privilege voice out challenges affecting schools in their area. Some of the matters raised are lack of scholar transport, support for people with disabilities, libraries, new infrastructures in schools, new principal in one school and school halls.

The MEC for education in Limpopo, Mr Ishmael Kgetjepe said, “All these matters that have been raised need about 20 billion and the department of education does not budget enough this year to resolve at these matters raised, but he promised to priorities urgent challenges.

MEC Kgetjepe indicated that the department continues to deal with challenges of infrastructure across the province. He promised that the lack of teachers challenges continue to receive attention.

Premier of Limpopo Mr Stanley Chupu Mathabatha said he will talk to the MEC for Education to make sure that he does all the matters and the approvals and also the schools have to take care of those matters.
