MEC for Education opens hospitality centre

The Limpopo MEC for Education Mr Ishmael Kgetjepe in partnership with Meropa Sun opened a Hospitality centre at Mathimako High school at Ga–Dikgale. The hospitality centre which entails 10 stoves, four microwaves, two fridges, five zinks donated by Sun Meropa.


The aim of donating the hospitality is to improve learner’s hospitality skills. The challenge that they have in Mathimako School is infrastructure. During the official opening the MEC addressed the grade 12 leaners and encouraged them to prepare and work hard for their final year examinations. The management of the Sun Meropa said  they develop the socio economic in community school and that the hospitality centre will help learners learn to cook in early age.

Over 1,6 million learners receive food in schools across the province and the hospitality facilities will improve in hospitality skills which in turn will be of value to the communities.
