Updates on Saselemani stadium project at Malamulele

By: Maano Nekhavhambe

The construction of the Saselemani Sports stadium at Saselemani village outside Malamulele, LIM345 Local Municipality is approaching its climax with the expected full completion set for mid-August 2017.

The building project was established back in March 2016 after the residents of Malamulele requested for a community stadium and the target for an official hand over of the 2000 capacity multi-purpose stadium is scheduled for the end of next month.

As things stand, the contractors responsible for this aspiring project are busy with the sub-soil drainage used to drain water on the football pitch to prevent flooding and they are anticipating to finish before the end of July.

As the stadium will be used for multi-sporting activities, it is consists of two multi-purpose (Tennis and Basketball) courts together with the back-to-back pavilion and an Olympic sized swimming pool of 12,5m by 25m.

The LIM345 Local Municipality under the leadership of the Executive Mayor, Cllr Joyce Bila, saw it befitting to build the top notch change rooms for sports participants with a Kiosk, life guard houses with a filtration pump station, irrigation pump station house as well as the fire pump house.

Match or activity tickets will be sold at the main guard house built at the stadium entrance.
