Premier delivers on his promises to the community of Gandlanani

During his monthly Imbizo outreach programme held at Gandlanani sportsground on the 18th of August , Premier Mathabatha made a promise that he will revisit the area in a period not exceeding four weeks.

Service delivery was evident when the Premier honored that promise by handing over two motorised wheelchairs to members of the disability forum - Mr Jika Ngobeni and Elliot Mdaka.

The Premier was accompanied by the MEC for Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Jerry Ndou as well as the MEC for Treasury, Rob Tooley to assess the two schools that were built by the community back in the 1970s. The visit to these schools was focused on infrastruture improvement, to ensure that learners and teachers are in a conducive environment to learn and transfer skills.

A chegue of R1000,000.00 was also presented to Nwaxibakhari Development Organisation; A cooperative responsible for a Home Base Care centre, Drop-In Centre, Victim Empowerment centre and a vegetable garden.

The organisation uses their four hectors garden as a central point where patients collect their medication to avoid long queues at local clinics.

On behalf of the Nwaxibakhari Development Organisation, Ms Rifumuni Agnes Mbiza expressed gratitude for the donation which will come in handy in their day to day running of the organisation.
