PRISA growing in Limpopo Province

The Public Relations Institute and Communication Management (PRISA) chapter is growing in Limpopo.

 

This was confirmed by the number of members who attended its network session that took place on the 15th April 2014 in Polokwane. More than 20 members from government, business, private sector and the non-governmental institutions attended the event that was addressed by Ms Adel Paulsen, PRISA Executive Director.

In her address, Paulsen emphasised that members of PRISA have the responsibility to behave in professional manner at all the times. " We are not what we tell people but what people see from us. She said. She then explained to the members that PRISA Limpopo, though a new branch is growing at a fast pace and has more activities that even established and old branches. Paulsen congratulated the provincial PRISA Committee lead by its chairperson, Mr Naledzani Rasila who works for the office of the Premier.

Ms Kavin Kalichara of the Taurus Communications gave presentation in Communication Crisis Management. In her presentation, members learnt the importance of establishing crisis communication management teams in all institutions. " The main issue is not to allow crisis happen if you identify signs. If it happens, do not  cause more damage by lack of knowledge. Remember, it takes 20 years to build a reputation but only five minutes to ruin it" She warned.  Participants were advised to contact the PRISA- Limpopo through its secretary, Mr Malesela Maubane for more insight.
