Youth Rural Development Project yields fruits

Muyexe Village in  Greater Giyani Municipality has been identified as the pilot project to implement Youth Rural Development Project by Cabinet, Ms  Jemaema  Sekole, Manager  HRD  in the Office of the Premier said.

She said that the Department of Public Service and Administration( DPSA), Public Sector Education and Training Authority( PSETA), the Office of the Premier and Greater Giyani Municipality established partnership in the implementation of Public Finance Management and Administration, NQF level  5 Learner ship for twenty (20) learners identified from Muyexe village.

Ms. Sekole further said that from the twenty learners identified, one of them resigned, one passed away and eighteen (18) continued with the programme. The commencement date for the learner ship was July 2012 and completion date was December 2013.

The DPSA, PSETA, Office of the Premier and the Greater Giyani Municipality have arranged the graduation ceremony to be held on 23rd of May 2014 at Giyani Community Hall, she added.

On the 3rd of January, all eighteen learners were placed in Greater Giyani Municipality for Internship Programme and PSETA continues paying their stipend. Muyexe has been identified by the presidency as focal point for development. Government has since improved infrastructure and introduced community projects.  The graduation ceremony will provide the area with young people who will push developmental activities forward.
