Best departments awarded during Premier’s Excellence Awards

Three Limpopo Departments, namely, Public Works’ Giyani Cleaning Service Unit, Agriculture (Geographic Information System Development and Implementation) and Tshilidzini Hospital-Gateway clinic scooped Platinum awards, a Trophy, Certificates and R50 000 each during the Premier’s Excellence Awards held at The Ranch Hotel on 13 March 2013.

Giyani Cleaning Service Unit was awarded for being best support team of the year; Agriculture was awarded for being the best Innovative team of the year while Tshilidzini Hospital was awarded for proving beyond doubt that they are  the best Service delivery team of the year.

Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism(LEDET) Employees Health and Wellness Unit, Department of Corporate Governance Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs(CogHSTA)’s Housing Property Management and Administration and Public Works’ Hlanganani Cost Center received a gold awards and a Certificates each for the second position while the Department of Roads and Transport’s Seshego Government Motor Transport, Department of Roads and Transport’s Operation Kulula and Department of Education’s Tintela Primary School  received  silver awards and Certificates each.

During the same event, Pulamadibo Primary School in Capricorn won the trophy and R5000 for their previous Platinum award and sustainable excellence.  Phalaborwa SAPS received a trophy and R5000 for their previous Gold prize that have represented the province at national and internationally arena while Mbilwi Secondary School in Vhembe received a trophy and R5000 for sustainable academic achievement and  excellency in delivering quality grade 12 results.

There were also eight individuals who received prizes for making the province proud in both academicall and social courses. Doomed the best personalities, these people received R5000 each. These highly esteem personalities are Mmadikgetho Komane from Glen Cowie Secondary School for being best grade 12 student in the whole country, Nkhangweni Nemudzivhadi of Thengwe High School for being the best teacher in Mathematics and Science in the country, Mmipe Mokgehle from Toronto Primary School,  lifetime Achiever Award, Ms K Edlam for excellence in Foundation Phase Teaching, Ms Tshimangadzo Rammbuda for being the top entrepreneur in the Export Market, Ms Rose Manpsho who is Miss Limpopo 2012 and Ms Katie Morgan, the Miss Teen Limpopo 2012.
