APPOINTMENT OF MR. CASSEL MATHALE TO LIMPOPO EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

 The President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Kgalema Motlanthe, has duly informed us of his decision to appoint Mr. Justice Piitso, our former MEC for Roads and Transport, as the new South African Ambassador to the People’s Republic of Cuba. The appointment is with effect from the 1st of December 2008. We welcome the President’s decision and would like to congratulate Mr. Piitso on his appointment as the country’s representative and voice in one of the countries that have played a significant role in our struggle for freedom and democracy.
Since his appointment as an MEC for Roads and Transport in 2006, Mr. Piitso, distinguished himself as a selfless servant, and we would therefore like to thank him for the unwavering commitment and determination he has shown in the service of the people of Limpopo. We wish him everything of the best in his new assignment.
The departure of Mr. Piitso has created a vacancy in the provincial Executive Council. After careful assessment of the whole provincial administration, we have since considered the appointment of Mr. Cassel Mathale as the new MEC for Roads and Transport. Mr. Mathale has served in both the government and Legislature, and we have got no doubt that he brings along an immense leadership experience that would add value to our cause of building a better for the people of our country, Limpopo in particular.
It is our pleasure to welcome the incumbent and wish him well in his new assignment.
