PREMIER CASSEL MATHALE CELEBRATES HIS
BIRTHDAY IN GIYANI, NWADZEKUDZEKU VILLAGE
04 February 2010
The
premier of Limpopo Cassel Mathale together
with the first lady Mokgadi Mathale will
this weekend celebrate his birthday with
children in the Giyani area. The premier
turned 49 two weeks ago on the 23rd of
January, a day which he spent opening the
brand new and world class Peter Mokaba
stadium.
Premier Mathale will begin his day by
handing over a computer lab and classrooms
at the Nkami High School in Giyani in the
Nwadzekudzeku Village. The computers where
donated by Webcom Technologies Pty Ltd.
Premier Mathale says “the computers will go
a long way in increasing computer literacy
in the dusty streets of Giyani as well as
empowering the learners with Information
Technology skills.”
He says “We are taking these computers to
children in the rural areas to also show
that we are serious when we talk about rural
development, the empowerment of the
previously disadvantaged and, more
importantly, bridging the digital divide. It
is now time that children in the rural areas
must start to taste what other children in
the urban areas are enjoying”.
The Premier will then move to the
Mbhangazeki High School where he will
handout school uniforms to more than 200
primary and high school learners who come
from vulnerable families. These vulnerable
learners have been identified by their
teachers.
The Premier together with the Limpopo First
Lady; Executive Mayor of Mopani District
Municipality, Cllr Joshua Matlou and Mayor
for Greater Giyani Municipality, Cllr M.D
Mathebula will proceed to cut the premier’s
birthday cake.
