    Official Launch of the State of the Province Report on Population and Development

    09 March 2006

    The population and development directorate in the Department of Health and Social Development took the initiative to produce 2005 State of the Province Report after a thorough research and analysis of two national censuses which were conducted in 1996 and 2001 providing social, economic, and demographic information.

    This report highlights changes that have occurred since 1996 to date, in respect of several areas where government is a key role player. Among the areas covered are provisioning of basic services. Experts in various fields will provide insight in to the Population and Development challenges related to the report’s finding.

    MEC for Health and Social Development, Mr. Seaparo Sekoati will officially launch this report, and members of the media are invited.
