A New Agency Takes Over Social Grants

The MEC for Health and Social Development Mr. Seaparo Sekoati together with the
Chief Executive Officer of South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) invite
members of the media to the Media Cocktail
The leadership of SASSA is visiting the province to sort out matters affecting
the establishment of SASSA. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is
an extension of a government delivery arm that will administer the delivery of
social grants to the poorest of the poor in South Africa. In essence, the
agency is therefore mandated by the Cabinet to tackle complex issues of
ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services of high quality with
regard to management and administration of Social Grants, such that the entire
process and system from application to receipt of social grants by
beneficiaries is done in a manner that is sensitive, caring and restore the
dignity of beneficiaries as well as the integrity of the whole system.
