    Welcoming of the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) Doctors

    The MEC for Health and Social Development in Limpopo, Honourable Seaparo Sekoati cordially invites all media people (Journalists) to the Welcoming of the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) Doctors. The UNV project under the auspices of the UDNP is a project aimed at providing assistance to the Government of South Africa to enable the efficient delivery of health care service in Limpopo. The health care sector in Limpopo has been severely affected by the acute shortage of health professionals, particularly doctors and nurses as a result of the brain drain to other more attractive provinces and abroad due to the remoteness of the province. This is the second welcoming of doctors after the first one of the Iranian doctors. The department will be welcoming 10 doctors today.

    The responsibility of the department is to receive these doctors when they are handed over by the UNDP and induct them into our services before dispatch to health institutions.
