EASTER MESSAGE FROM THE MEC FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

The MEC for Health and Social Development in Limpopo Province, Mr. Seaparo Sekoati wishes all the people of Limpopo a joyous Easter holidays. I would also like to wish all the drivers a safe journey and also plead for more patience from our passengers so as to ensure that we all arrive alive.

To all the pedestrians, it is very crucial that we make sure that we put on brighter clothes when attending Easter long weekends festivities.

Noting that it’s also during school holidays, I would like to make a special appeal to all parents that lets make sure that our children do not play with telephones by dialing our emergency toll free numbers.

Imagine an ambulance attending a hoax call instead of saving the life of your loved ones or any of your relatives.

Our department will work in partnership with the Department of Roads and Transport, Safety, Security and Liaison to curb the road carnage we experience during Easter weekends.

Our Emergency Medical Services will be spread across the province roads for 24 hours of the day to respond to any accidents taking place.

I urge the people to control their excitement by avoiding drug abuse and keep the promise to Abstain Be faithful and Condomise.

Let’s be responsible, our lives are in our own hands and let’s make our hands clean.

WHAT’S NEW

The department has recently embarked on a thorough investigation of internal capacity in terms of service delivery obligation and as a result we have redeployed three CEO’s from Witpoort, Ellisras and Maphutha Malatji hospitals.

This is done in an effort to ensure that we have got the right capacity and skills allocated to particular service areas. And as a transforming organisation we would continue to reassess and review our strengths at all levels, and that might result with a movement of personnel from area to area where the skills are required more.
