{"id":3707,"date":"2022-03-02T06:18:59","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T06:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.limpopo.gov.za\/?p=3707"},"modified":"2022-03-02T06:19:10","modified_gmt":"2022-03-02T06:19:10","slug":"road-projects-in-limpopo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.limpopo.gov.za\/?p=3707","title":{"rendered":"Road projects in Limpopo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Cyril Ramaphosa during his visit in the Province on the 8th February 2022, said he\u2019s pleased with the progress made in the road projects in the Limpopo Province.<\/p>\n<p>He says similar projects will be carried out in other parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Ramaphosa says the Limpopo project has helped create jobs, and says that improving the country\u2019s infrastructure will help advance the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we can do this type of project in many parts of the country and we are going to do so, we will be able to create a number of jobs and ensure we are building social and economic infrastructure,\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we have roads then we are able to move to a higher level economically\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Premier of Limpopo Province, Mathabatha said quality road infrastructure is an important enabler for growth and development and one of the government priority is building new roads and maintaining the existing road infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>He says through Road Agency Limpopo, government continue to build quality roads that makes lives of the communities better whilst raising admiration from the rest of the country.<\/p>\n<p>During the State of the Province, Mathabatha shed light about progress on the following road infrastructure projects:<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 11km on road D1589 from Ga-Kgobokanang to Ga-Makgato and De-Vrede in the Capricorn District; is at 98%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 7.3km on road D2537 road in Penge in the Sekhukhune district; is at 51%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 5km on road D4150 in Praktiseer in the Sekhukhune district; is at 65%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 9km on road D11 from Ga-Mamaila Kolobetona connecting the R81 in the Mopani District; is at 58%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 27km on road D3840 from Giyani to Phalaborwa in the Mopani District; is at 67%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe construction of a New Bridge on Road D2219 in Steelpoort which is in the preliminary design stage;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe construction of bridge 6116 in Makuleke; is at 99 % practical completion;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 5km on road D3200 Lebaka -Mohlabaneng; is at 56%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 9km on road D11 \u2013 Ga- Mamaila, Mopani; is at 58%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 30km of road D4 Elim Malamulele; is at 59%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of flood damaged road D4240 Maseven in Sekhukhune; is at 49%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe rehabilitation of 40km on road D1483 Musina to Pondrift in Vhembe; is at 40%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe upgrading of 13km on road D2922, D2919 from Keerom to Tshikanosi; is at 99% practical completion;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe upgrading of 7.5Km D3727, D879, D1356 Mashamba to Tshitale to Morebeng; is 100% complete;<br \/>\n\u27a2\t The upgrading of 3km on road D3688 from khubvi to Tshidzivhe in Vhembe; is 100% complete;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe upgrading of 5km on road D4253 in Ga-Masemola in Sekhukhune; is 100% complete;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe upgrading of 3km on road D3187 and D3843 from Mageva to Makhuvha, Mopani district; is 100% complete;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe upgrading of 3km on road D3200 from Mokwakwaila to Mawa, Mopani district; is 100% complete;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe upgrading of 3km on road D3377 from Limburg to Matlala, Capricorn district; is at 98%;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tThe upgrading of 32km on roads D3232, D15 and D3150 from Morebeng to Sekgosese; is at 93%.<\/p>\n<p>During the 2022\/2023 Financial Year and the 2023\/2024 Financial Year, Government will commence construction work on some of the following roads:<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2\tD4180 Atok Mine to Ga-Selepe to Modimolle in Sekhukhune;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD3278 Blouberg Hospital to Buffelshoek in Capricorn;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD3561 Segole 1 &#038; Segole 2 (Masebe Nature Reserve to N11 Waterval) in Waterberg;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD4260 Malope to Phokwane in Sekhukhune;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD3669 Mavhunga access road in Vhembe;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD3734 Tshatshama road in Mopani;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD4090, D4093, D4094, D4096 Malimate Roads in Capricorn;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD4199 Apel to Ga-Nkoana to D4190 in Sekhukhune;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD3436, D3428, D5007 Ga-Ramoshwane, Ga-Rammetlwane, Ga-Ramotlwana in Capricorn;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD3248 Thapane access to Namitwa in Mopani;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD4283 Glencowie to Malaka in Sekhukhune, and;<br \/>\n\u27a2\tD3671 Musekwa to Maranikwe in Vhembe.<\/p>\n<p>By: Jimmy Malebati and Dexter Mohale<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Cyril Ramaphosa during his visit in the Province on the 8th February 2022, said he\u2019s pleased with the progress made in the road projects in the Limpopo Province.
