Limpopo Province to host Investment Conference in September 2021
According the Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET), MEC Thabo Mokone, the Limpopo Province will host a two day Investment Conference from 1st -2nd September 2021.
LEDET MEC Thabo Mokone, speaking today at Fusion Boutique Hotel during media briefing, said that the two day Investment Conference is a culmination of the investment promotion drive undertaken by the Limpopo Government over the past years. Government is responding to the Limpopo Development Plan, which calls for the beneficiation of the industrial base to stimulate economic growth across traditional and new emerging sectors.
Thabo Mokone added that the conference will bring together investors and delegates from local, national and international business communities on the same platform paving the way for nurturing and supporting industrialization in Limpopo and contributing to government plans. Through the dialogue, government will reflect on the province’s vital economic sectors such as Mining, Agriculture and Tourism.
“We are glad that Limpopo is getting exposure to new markets ,and it is through print media,electronic and digital platforms, we will further increase our brand equity in the global markets,”Mokone comments.
The province aims to achieve the following objectives over the long term:
- Start of new enterprise in the Mining and Mineral beneficiation sector
- Opening of new enterprise in the Agriculture and Agro -processing sector
- Beginning of new enterprises in Renewal and Alternative Energy
- Investment in the current and unique tourism opportunities
- Massive infrastructure development supporting this industrialization programme
- More uptake for the SEZ and Industrial Park manufacturing infrastructure.
Limpopo Economic Development Agency Group Chief Executive Office, Thakhani Makhuvha said that the province is ready to host Investment Conference and described as a game changer in the economy of the province. He further indicated that there are investors that have shown interest to have sideline discussions.
