Limpopo Provincial Government – Departments
The Limpopo Provincial Government consists of 11 Departments, namely:
- Office of the Premier (OTP)
- Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD)
- Department of Education (DoE)
- Department of Economic Development, Environment & Tourism (LEDET)
- Department of Social Development (DSD)
- Department of Health (DoH)
- Co-operative Governance,Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs(CoGHSTA)
- Department of Provincial Treasury (DPT)
- Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastucture (DPWRI)
- Department Transport and Community Safety (DTCS)
- Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC)
These provincial departments which constitute the provincial government administration are responsible for implementing laws and providing services to the people of Limpopo in its entirety.
Working with a budget of billions rands (in 2023/2024 financial year), these departments are expected to deal with the key spending priorities on the following areas:
- A capable, ethical and development state,
- Economic transformation and job creation,
- Education, skills and health,
- Consolidating the social wage through reliable and quality basic services,
- Spatial integration, human settlements and local government,
- Social cohesion and safe communities,
- A better Africa and the world.
