Over 12000 people have roof over their heads
During Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi visit to Limpopo Province on 08 October 2021, she commended the province for ensuring that women and youth are at the centre of human settlements delivery.
Since the inception of the democratic government in 1994, the government of Limpopo has managed to deliver over 200 000 houses to the citizens of the province.
This year during the State of the Province Address, Mathabatha reiterated that delivery of the housing infrastructure is part of the government’s agenda to restore the dignity of the people, particularly the poor.
“The province has managed to deliver 3 108 houses to the poor and the needy. This means that over 12 000 more people now have a roof over their heads. In addition, government have delivered around 1 948 fully serviced sites for those who are able to build houses for themselves,” said Mathabatha.
Among other issues expected to be resolved is the delivery of water to the people.
“Municipalities are expected to invest more in the development and maintenance of water, sanitation, electricity and road infrastructure,” said Mathabatha.
