Limpopo Province commemorates International Women’s Day

Limpopo Provincial Government on Wednesday,9th August 2023,joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Women’s Day in Rebone Stadium, Mogalakwena Municipality. The event was commemorated under the theme” Accelerating socio-economic opportunities for empowerment of women”.

The province had used the occasion to advocate for socio-economic emancipation driven by both National Development Plan (NDP) and Limpopo Development Plan (LDP).

Acting Premier Radzilani Florence reiterated that women should celebrate and be on the forefront to work together with government to instill hope and courage to all women and the children of our country, who are living under difficult conditions of poverty, abuse, inequality, unemployment and segregation.

“There is a need to ensure that all women have access to participate equally in all areas of human endeavor. Limpopo Government is committed towards ensuring that women are supported at all cost as the journey towards the economic recovery trajectory. Women in the province are assured of hand of support and tutelage,” said Radzilani.

Radzilani emphasised that women should participate in the provincial economy so that it can be improved.

“The province is committed towards infrastructure development utilizing the Musina-Makhado and Tubatse-Fetakgomo Special Economic Zones as a catalytic projects. Women and youth urged to take advantages of the opportunities that are available in these sectors”

Radzilani concluded by saying the implementation of the Industrial Parks Revitalisation programme in all the five districts of Limpopo will create over 6,000 jobs for the people of the province.
