Official opening of the Polokwane Airshow by Limpopo Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba

The Premier of Limpopo, Dr Phophi Ramathuba officially opened Polokwane Airshow on Saturday,29th June 2024.The aim of the event is to showcase various aircraft and aviation related activities ,while also providing entertainment and educational opportunities to the public for attendees of all ages.

The aim is to expose 1 000 learners from Limpopo to various careers and opportunities in aviation, to inspire future generations of pilots, engineers, and aviation professionals through aircraft displays, flight demonstrations, and interactive exhibits.

The airshow has a significant economic benefit for the City of Polokwane by attracting visitors from outside the area who will spend money on accommodation, dining, transportation, and souvenirs, therefore stimulating the local economy.

Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba said the airshow will continue annually and thanked the support given by everybody to ensure that this event happens.

“I am delighted because this event will allow children an opportunity especially children from rural areas, to begin to understand what aviation is about. Children will learn to understand that aviation is a career, she added.
