Premier Dr Ramathuba continues quest to support farmers

On the 08th of October 2024, the Premier of Limpopo, Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, alongside MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms. Nakedi Kekana, visited the ZZ2 farm in Mooketsi around Tzaneen to not only form a relation between government and business stakeholders, but advance the agricultural sector in Limpopo.

The CEO of the Tomato establishment, Mr. Tommie van Zyl appreciated the Premier’s commitment and efforts in developing a sustainable partnership with the sector. The entity is now exporting its produce to African countries such Namibia with hopes to expand to China, India and several European countries. This is why Premier, Dr. Ramathuba revealed how the sector can be one of the most powerful economic drivers in the province.

“With mining, tourism, and agriculture being the centerpiece for economic growth and employment creation in Limpopo, we as the Provincial Government will create a conducive environment for farmer to thrive,” assured the Premier.

Essentially, ZZ2 seeks to give Limpopo produce access to greater international markets while being the benchmark for sustainable growth in the agricultural space. PM
