The first budget vote presented by the Premier, prioritises strengthening governance in the province by empowering departments to deliver impactful services for communities through three programmes including Corporate Management, Institutional Development Support, as well as Planning, Coordination, Monitoring & Evaluation.
Other key deliverables from the re-tabling of the fiscal budget include:
• Sustainable leadership and good governance will be strengthened for effective service provision to the people of the province.
• The accessibility to quality education and adequate infrastructure for efficient leaning remains a priority.
• The disruption of peace, GBV&F to be tackled head-on by enforcing penalties for criminal acts.
• The legacy of land dispossession and economic exclusion to be dismantled.
• Limpopo’s natural assets, buzzing tourism sector and entrepreneurial spirit to be poised for transformative growth.
• Sports and art to be utilised as a tool for youth development and empowerment.
Although most of the budget votes remain unchanged, MEC Mahoai emphasised the importance of revenue discipline and efficient use of public resources.
