Limpopo Premier launches Dizemba Summer Campaign

Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba in conjunction with the Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) officially launched Limpopo Ka Dizemba Summer Campaign ahead of the much-anticipated festive season.

The official launch was held at Meropa Casino on Thursday, 20 November 2025.

She was accompanied by the MEC for Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET) Mr. Tshitereke Matibe.

The Limpopo Ka Dizemba campaign is a tourism initiative aimed at attracting visitors to Limpopo during the festive season while showcasing the province’s unique breathtaking landscapes, wildlife and cultural diversity.

The objectives of the Limpopo ka Dizemba Campaign also include inspiring and increasing domestic travel, promoting geographic spread to less-visited areas, to reduce tourism seasonality, and to create inclusive economic opportunities throughout the year.

These competitive advantages position Limpopo as number one destination of choice for both domestic and international travellers.
Premier Dr. Ramathuba highlighted the importance of remaining competitive in entertainment and tourism.

Dr. Ramathuba said Limpopo Province needs stronger partnerships to bid and host major events to boost the economy through tourism as will be the case this November and December.

“Limpopo remains Africa’s Eden, a province blessed with breathtaking landscapes, abundant wildlife, unmatched cultural diversity, heritage sites of global significance, and the only place in the world that proudly hosts the Big Six, which includes the iconic Baobab Tree. These are powerful assets that should give us confidence as we compete for major events and conferences.” Dr. Ramathuba said

Limpopo intends to use tourism as a tool to create jobs, strengthen small enterprises, and reduce poverty especially in rural communities.
The partnership between the Limpopo Provincial Government with private sector continues to yield success, with reference to a recent FlySafair Airline introduction of the Cape Town–Hoedspruit route, which is now operating at 70% capacity, confirms what we have always known that Limpopo Province is unmatched when it comes to authentic safari experiences.

“We need more such partnerships, and we must collectively work to ensure that tourism becomes a key driver of job creation and economic growth.” Dr. Ramathuba highlighted

Notable major sporting events, boosting tourism, hosted in Limpopo saw Stellenbosch FC hosting their CAF Confederations Cup opener against AS Otoho of Congo which they walked away 1-0 triumphant at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Sunday, 23 November 2025.

The Peter Mokaba stadium will also play host to another CAF Confederations Cup encounter between Kaizer Chiefs and Egyptian giants Zamalek on Saturday, 29 November 2025, and the much-anticipated Carling Black Label Cup Final between Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants on Saturday, 06 December 2025.

Limpopo will also host several major events including the annual Sapa Yopa celebrations, Mapungubwe Festival, Likompo Youth Festival, and the celebration of the Yellow Arum Lily Flower in Leolo and Roossenekal respectively.
These events are expected to attract more visitors from across South Africa and the SADC region.

Dr. Ramathuba has urged the LTA and LEDET to deliver world-class hospitality, service excellence, and quality experiences that keep visitors coming back to Limpopo.
