Golfers raises R235 000 for conjoined twins

A sporting golf game for a good cause took a different shape in the name of Limpopo conjoined twins born in February 2026. Golfers raised more than R235 000 through sponsored holes and donations which is aimed at building a house for the twins’ family. The target is estimated at a minimum of R1 million to begin the construction of the house.

The golfer’s tournament was made possible by partnership between Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA), Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) and major South African commercial banks which was held on 6 March at Euphoria Golf Estate.

In February 2026, a 29 year old mother of three gave birth to conjoined twins at Mankweng Tertiary & Academic Hospital. Pediatric surgeon Dr Nyaweleni Tshifularo who is responsible for the twins is optimistic that the surgery to separate the twins will be successful given the positive assessment conducted on the wellbeing of the infants.

To assist the mother, the Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba have engaged Risima Housing Finance Corporation which is subsidiary of LEDA providing accessible home loans to public servants to be on board to provide a decent house to the twins’ family of six.

Only this time, Risima will provide a non-government public servant mother to have a home to raise her twins and their three siblings in a decent home designed to make their lives better.

The fundraising target is estimated at R1 million, to kick start the construction of the house and make the project doable, Standard Bank pledged R260 000 adding to the R235 raised by golfers.

During the Gala dinner where the Dr Ramathuba pleaded with other banks to pledge in assisting the family in ensuring that a decent house is built. EC
