MEC for Health launches Human Papilom Virus Campaign

By Elvis Tshikhudo

The Provincial MEC for Health Dr Phophi Ramathuba recently launched the Human Papilom Virus (HPV) Campagn at Kgatla and Ramathakga School in Kgapane, Greater Letaba Municipality.

According to Dr Ramathuba, this campaign coincides with the National Women’s month. She said it would require all women within Kgapane to ensure that the campaign becomes a success.

Dr Phophi Ramathuba said the HPV vaccination campaign came as a response to women who die as a result of cervical cancer. According to her, cervical cancer outlined by World Health Organisation remains the killer disease and as such women should constantly visit their facilities and check their health status.

Dr Phophi Ramathuba said we need to create a new society as the women of Limpopo who are concerned about the well being of our children. We should emulate other nations who graduated from the extreme poverty to become the economic powerhouse of the world economy.
